Advance Agro paper mills combine the most advanced technology
of paper production in terms of machinery and production techniques.
An automatic online computerised quality control system monitors
the entire process of production, from pulp to paper roll.
Additionally, the latest in surface treatment technology -
Rod Metering - produces an enhanced even and smooth uncoated
paper quality.
Here,
the most advanced paper coating technology engineered by one
of the world's leading paper producers, is employed. A special
Coat Weight Profile control system closely monitors the paper
coating process and a state-of-the-art online control system
ensures that the coating mix is applied evenly across the
paper.
The most important properties of printing and writing paper
are opacity and brightness. These properties depend on the
quality of calcium carbonate as a filler, used during production.
Advance Agro has its on-site Precipitated Calcium Carbonate
(PCC) plant which produces fine crystals of consistent quality.
This results in the better whiteness and even opacity of the
paper.
To ensure that our paper products meet international
standards, a Quality Control System (OCS) is set up to monitor
important production stages from base paper production, to
coating to calendaring processes. Scanners take measurements
of various properties such as weight, humidity, thickness,
colour and gloss. Every square centimeter of paper is thoroughly
examined at the various stages to achieve the highest quality
paper.
All these are further complemented by an automated
warehouse which is most efficient means of inventory management
for prompt delivery.
Main Processes
Our factory at Thatoom is considered a prototype in the innovative
paper industry. It operates sophisticated machinery in two
pulp mills which combined, can produce up to 470,000 tonnes
per annum.
Converting Plant
The Converting Plant's main function is to
convert rolled paper into sheet paper using a sheeter machine.
This machine cuts the paper into sizes required by the customer.
A Ream Wrapper is then used to wrap the cut paper.
Cut Size 2
Cut Size 2 is where big rolled paper is converted into smaller
cut-size paper or A4-size to be sold to both local and overseas
customers for office use, particularly for the photo copying
machine, fax machine and printer.
Paper Mill
Our company has two paper mills with a total capacity of
470,000 tonnes per year, and a subsidiary mill with a capacity
of 33,000 tpa. These machines can produce paper with 6.9 meter
width at the speed of 1,250 meter per minute.
Pulp 2
Advance Agro has two short pulp mills, with a total production
capacity of 427,000 tonnes per year. This mill uses a water
recycling system in the pulp bleaching process, which uses
only 6-7 cu. meter of water per tonne of pulp, considered
the lowest water consumption system in the world.
