Advance
Agro is today one of the Thailand's largest producers of printing
and writing paper. Its products, driven by the unmistakable Double
A brand, is accepted worldwide for its uncompromised quality. Advance
Agro is equally respected for its innovative way of doing business,
and is spearheading the reshaping of the future of the Thai pulp
and paper industry from that of an importer, to a major exporter
in the region with the highest economic growth in the world.
Realizing
that agriculture is a major industry in Thailand, Advance Agro has
developed a new technology for paper manufacturing that allows the
simultaneous development of paper manufacturing and Thai agricultural
woods. Before, the paper industry consumed raw materials from woods
aging over 50 years from the natural forests, but today, Advance
Agro uses planted woods that are just 3-5 years old. This initiative,
which leverages on the advantages in geography, climate and the
ability and experience of Thai farmers, has resulted in Advance
Agro being the first integrated manufacturer in Southeast Asia to
be certified with ISO 14001 environmental management standard from
AJA EQS, UK in 1997. This outstanding performance in the field of
environmental conservation has also led to it being the first Thai
ISO 9001 version 2000-certified pulp and paper manufacturer.
